As the decade draws to a close, DyeStat ESPN RISE is presenting a series of All-Decade awards in the sports of high school cross country and track and field.  Selections to the All-Decade Cross Country team were made by the DyeStat editorial team, based on performances beween the fall of 2000 and the fall of 2009.  Athletes were named to the team based on their body of cross country work during those years. Track marks and performances, or post-HS success and accomplishments, were not considered-- simply what an athlete accomplished in the sport of cross country (including USATF Jr XC and World XC) during their high school career.

Jordan Hasay | Athlete of the Decade

Class of 2009, Mission College Prep (Arroyo Grande CA)

She was called “Air Jordan” that first fall, but the “Air,” part was soon discarded and she just become Jordan, as recognizable by her first name as any prep distance runner has probably ever been.  And if it seems like she’s dominated the entire decade, well, you’d be half right.  Jordan Hasay of Mission College Prep CA emerged on the scene as a middle schooler in USATF meets and by the fall of her freshman year displayed as much talent as almost anyone her age ever has.  For what she would do that fall, and the rest of her storied career, she is the DyeStat ESPN RISE Girls Cross Country Athlete of the Decade.
